Born in Newfoundlan to a military family, raised in a small community in Indiana, Barry Stephen learned, after being "bullied" how to defend himself, and grew to have a deep appreciation of the confidence, courage and honesty that true martial arts gives to you.
He came to South Florida, on a baseball scholarship, and graduated from FAU with a degree in Physical Education.
He is currently on staff at FAU(Florida Atlantic University). He also teaches at the Jewish Community Center in west Boca Raton Florida; Pinecrest Elementary School, and at the Coral Springs Community Center, as well as holding classes at the "Home Facilty" in East Boca Raton.
He has studied a variety of different styles, but predominantly teaches Jhoon Rhee Style Karate(http://www.jhoonrhee.com). He also teaches Mixed Martial Arts(and wow, can he grapple!), Kickboxing(talk about an excellent Cardio workout!), Boxing.
At the studio, we also have available a Women's Only class, Krav Maga, and soon to come, Ultimate Workouts!
Mr. Stephen is "owned" by an Awesome Akita, named Thunder. Thunder is a great dog, who has eyes only for his master!
